Something new is coming, get ready💋💋💋

To our 2026 financial sponsors, THANK YOU!

Your generosity helped bring the 7th Annual Beauty of Blackness Fine Art Show to life, creating opportunities to celebrate Black artistry, creativity, and community.

From the artists who shared their incredible work to the collectors, supporters, and community members who filled our spaces, your investment helped make these moments possible.

We are deeply grateful for your belief in our vision and your continued commitment to supporting Black art.

Together, we are creating more than an exhibition. We are building a legacy.

With gratitude,
The Beauty of Blackness Fine Art Show

Our community showed up. ❤️

We are incredibly grateful to every business, organization, artist, and community member who generously donated to this year’s silent auction—and to every person who placed a bid and took something special home.

Your generosity helped make the silent auction more than just a part of the weekend. It became another beautiful example of what happens when community comes together to support art, culture, and one another.

To our donors: thank you for saying yes, for giving, and for believing in what we’re building.

To our winning bidders: thank you for showing your support and helping turn every donated item, experience, and work of art into meaningful impact.

And to everyone who participated, shared, encouraged, or cheered us on—thank you. We could not do this work without community.

From all of us at The Beauty of Blackness Fine Art Show, thank you for being part of it.🖤

We Had the Coolest Friday Morning Visitors! ✨

Friday morning, we had the pleasure of welcoming a wonderful group of 7th-grade students from a Fort Collins school for a morning of art, conversation, and connection.

Their teacher reached out to me several months ago about bringing her students to view the artwork and have an opportunity to speak directly with artists. Her students will be studying the Harlem Renaissance in a few months, and she wanted to give them something beyond what they would find in a textbook—an authentic experience connecting them with Black American artists and their work.

And what a morning it was! 🎨✨

We rotated the students through the exhibition, giving them the opportunity to meet and speak with several of the participating artists. The students asked questions, shared their observations, and learned directly from the people who created the work.

I absolutely loved watching their curiosity unfold.

There is something powerful about giving young people the opportunity to ask an artist, “Why did you make this?” or “What does this mean?” and hear the answer directly from the person who created it.

As they prepare to study the Harlem Renaissance, I hope this experience helps them understand that Black American art is not simply something that belongs in a history book. It is living, evolving, powerful, creative, and being made right here and right now.

A huge thank you to their teacher for being intentional about creating this opportunity for her students—and to all of the artists who took the time to talk with them and answer their questions. ❤️

This is why representation in the arts matters.

Art is education.
Art is history.
Art is conversation.
Art is connection.
Art gives us a chance to see, learn, question, and understand.

What a beautiful way to spend a Friday morning! ✨

If You Haven’t Been Yet, This Is Your Sign!

The Beauty of Blackness Fine Art Show is happening NOW in downtown Fort Collins — and there is still time to experience it.

Walk through the Opera Galleria and discover original works by Black artists from across the country. Meet the artists. Hear the stories behind the work. Bring your family. Sit in on a conversation. Find the piece that makes you stop in your tracks.

Because The Beauty of Blackness is more than an art show; it’s an experience. And pictures only tell part of the story. Join us; the final day is tomorrow, Sunday, September 6, at the Opera Galleria, 123 N. College Ave., Fort Collins.

The 7th Annual Beauty of Blackness Fine Art Show. Come see what everyone is talking about — and experience it for yourself.
